Methodist Foster Care supports a statewide network of Therapeutic Foster Homes located throughout Louisiana. Together these homes provide care to 130 children. The need in Louisiana for therapeutic foster care is great. We are actively recruiting, training, and certifying new homes. To meet the growing need, our goal is to add 140 new Therapeutic Foster Homes to our statewide network before October 2021.

From central offices in Monroe, Alexandria, Lafayette, Covington, Houma, and Ruston, Methodist Foster Care recruits, trains, certifies and actively supports a state-wide network of Therapeutic Foster Care families who provide family-based treatment in specially trained, actively supported, foster homes for children who cannot live with their natural families.

Methodist Foster Care Does Much More
Methodist Foster Care provides three services to Louisiana’s community of foster caregivers. Our Therapeutic Foster Care program recruits, trains, certifies and supports a statewide organization of therapeutic foster homes. In April of 2019, Methodist Foster Care launched a Kinship Navigator program designed to assist relative caregivers. In October of 2019, Methodist Foster Care launched Louisiana’s Foster Care Support Organization which provides support services to all of Louisiana’s foster caregivers.
